Light brown boards are sturdy - showing edgewear and moderate scuffs and stains of age. Spines in poor condition - all but Vols I and IV have been taped either to protect them or to hold them on Vol. I spine is detached and hinges weak. This set of four books was privately printed for members of London's Casanova Society in 1923. The Casanova Society's brief existence lasted from 1922 - 1926, and this was their second publication.This is a Limited Edition. Sets numbered 1 to 750 were of sixteen volumes, and sets numbered 751 to 2250 were of four volumes. The set being offered for sale here is Set #844, complete in four volumes. The set is in good condition with some rubbing at the edges, corners and hinges, and occasional spotting. Each volume is numbered - 844 - which shows a complete original set. Each of the volumes is signed on the title page by Ellsworth Fleming of the Casanova Society, and each is also signed by Fleming again on the following page which describes the publication of the volumes. This set will provide many long evenings of enjoyable reading, and will make a fine addition to your library of classic literature. Fourteen volumes in original hardcovers. Series 1: volumes 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 15, 20, 21, 22, 23, 25, 26. 1896-1914. Generally condition runs from Good to Very Good plus. These are heavy volumes that are prone to binding failures when handled improperly. Some of these volumes are sound, some strengthened with new endpapers, some where binding is starting. None have failed bindings. The earlier volumes show more general wear to the boards than later volumes. I have prepared a more complete condition report on each volume so feel free to inquire. The American Historical Society, Inc., 1932. Three volume set (complete). VG+. Interiors bright and clean; each volume has an old price penciled on flyleaf. No other marks. Bindings are tight. Binding is brown embossed cloth (that looks like leather) showing a scene with a covered wagon, tipis, and a canoe. Minor shelf and handling wear to bindings -- edges and corners scuffed, spine tops and bottoms dented, some light white staining on spine of vol. II. Marbled end sheets and text block edges. Lovely set of Oscar Wilde's complete works. This is a deluxe, limited edition; #508 of 1000. Boards are slightly soiled and spine ends are bumped with mild chipping. Volume II has had some repair to a cracked outer spine edge. Marbled endpapers with a beautiful owner's bookplate in each volume. No internal markings. Many deckle-edged pages are not cut, especially in lesser known works. Hinges are slightly loose but intact. A very readable set with care to handling. A fine, three-volume set of the works of Moliere published in the late 19th-century. This 1883 English edition was published in London and features introductory and notes by Charles Wall of Brighton College. Like other complete works of Moliere, this example includes his most famous works such as The Misanthrope, Tartuffe, the Impostor, and Don Juan.
First volume has a B&W illustration of Moliere at the title page.
Books are in Fine/Great condition! Just slight wear/staining on the covers. Corners are bumped a bit. Interiors are in Great condition! Really a lovely set and in Fantastic condition for being over 130 years old!

This five volume set is bound in 3/4 leather (leather spines and corners) with marbled board covers, marbled page edges, and marbled endsheets. Some leather on the covers shows slight scuffing. The leather on the spines is in very good condition and has gold decor with red and black labels.There is a former owner's name and date pencilled in two of the volumes.
