A lovely clean copy finely bound by Blackwells in contemporary full red morocco. Spine with raised bands, ruled in gilt. Compartments double ruled, decorated and lettered in gilt. Double ruled borders on boards. Gilt inner denteles. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Neat previous owners bookplate on front paste down endpaper. A fine copy of this intertesting travelogue.:

Full speckled calf, contemporary to publication, covers framed in blind with gilt-stamped coat-of-arms on both, spine in six compartments richly gilt, red leather lettering piece gilt, edges speckled red, marbled end papers. About Fine, joints skillfully reinforced; clean, well-margined leaves with occasional mild foxing and edge stains; most plates with faint tide mark to upper edge. Huzard II 944. Thiébaud 917-918. (8 x 5.6 inches). iv, 112pp. Contains the fifth and first edition texts, plus notes on Omar Khayyam and the poem, and comparisons between the first four editions. Finely bound, for Hatchards, in early full dark purple morocco. Spine with five raised bands, each with gilt piping. Compartments lettered and decorated in gilt. Front board with elaborate decorative floral design in gilt, embellished with red morocco inlay dots. Rear board with double gilt ruled border with red inlay dots to the corners of the inner border. Board edges with single gilt rule. Inner board edges with tripe ruled line borders and dotted corners. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Some very light rubbing to extremities and the colouring is faintly darker to the outer boards but overall a lovely copy in a highly decorative early twentieth century fine leather binding.

Navarre Society. London. 1948. FACSIMILE MAJOR EDITION. 8vo. Illustrated with 74 fine wood engravings, by many artists, throughout the text. Fine leather binding by Zaehnsdorf of full dark green morocco. Spine with raised bands, ruled in gilt. The compartments are ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt. Single gilt ruled border on boards. Gilt inner dentelles. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Previous owners bookplate on rear blank endpaper. Spine a little faded but overall a near fine, attractive copy.

Macmillan and co. Ltd. London. 1904. REPRINT OF 1896 ILLUSTRATED EDITION. 8vo. (7.7 x 5.3 inches). Illustrated with 40 full page mono plates by Hugh Thomson. A clean tidy copy bound, for Truslove and Hanson in London, in early half burgundy morocco, spine with a single raised band, dotted in gilt. Compartments ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt. Red cloth on boards. Top edge gilt. A small amount of wear to the extremities and some marks to the cloth boards but still overall a very good, attractive copy.

The Hogarth Press. London. 1959. FIRST EDITION. 8vo. Frontispiece and line drawings throughout by John Ward. A fine copy in recent binding of full green morocco. Spine with raised bands, ruled and lettered in gilt. Top edge gilt. A lovely, fine copy of this classic account of country life in the Cotswolds between the wars.

London: William Pickering, 1846. Three volumes finely bound by F. Bedford in contemporary full polished calf, the backs intricately gilt, covers with double gilt rules, marbled end papers and edges. Small period "Pickering Booksellers 196 Piccadilly" label Vol.I front paste down. The set Near Fine, small rubs and some discolorations to boards, which are now covered with clear plastic protectors, end papers toned, interior pages clean and bright and free of toning. Bound in contemporary polished calf, double gilt rules bordering covers, five raised bands with decorative gilt rules, dark brown calf label in gilt, plain beige end papers, gilt medallion front cover of the Kingston on Thames Tiffins Endowed School. Near Fine, light toning to first and last few pages only, light wear to boards. "It is with the present that this little volume is mainly occupied. No attempt has been made to give any historical sketch of this long-surviving city ; my chief desire has been to awaken fresh interest in its present inhabitants, with many of whom a residence of seven years in Damascus has given me opportunities of forming an intimate acquaintance." . The bookplates of prominent San Francisco banker John Dempster McKee. Three volumes with 1872 title pages and the 1760-61 title pages. Handsomely bound in contemporary half dark brown pebbled morocco over brick pebbled morocco, the backs with blind tooled decorations and gilt lettering, marbled end papers and edges. Near Fine, light rubbing at edges. Susanna Centlivre ( ca. 1669-1723) was "one of the most successful playwrights of her time, Susanna Centlivre was also one of the most performed female playwrights after her death. With a popularity that stretched from the 18th century well into the 19th, at least one of her plays was performed somewhere for nearly two hundred consecutive years" ( Andrea Watson Canning, Juggernaut Theatre Co.). Michael Caine has printed this large-format letterpress edition with virtuoso skill, setting the text in a wondrously expressive array of original, early twentieth-century hand-cut Italian and French founts to capture the imagination of readers young and old. Casey Sorrow has brought to life Joyce's curious 'Københavnere' with ingeniously playful pen-and-ink drawings, specially commissioned, and printed by typographique cliché.
This Numbered issue, printed on Fedrigoni Freelife Vellum, is in double-elephant sextos and hand-bound in one-quarter cloth over marbled boards.

Fine contemporary binding of full tan calf. Spine with raised bands. Compartments have gilt rules. Red title label, gilt. Board edges with decorative gilt roll design. Marbled endpapers. A small ink spot to the lower board but overall a lovely copy in a fine 18th century calf binding. Originally published in 1762, Lowth's Introduction to Gramar went through several printings and revisions by the author.
