A VG+/VG copy of this rare first made even more so by having a splendid **HANDWRITTEN SIGNED LETTER** by Mr. Wilder. The HB is very clean and tight with just some browning on the end pages. The unclipped DJ has a small piece missing from the upper spine end, not affecting the title. There are a few tiny other chips now in mylar and protected. A very strong copy and a wonderful combo! The unclipped DJ shows a price of $ 3.95 crossed out and penned $ 3.19. I think this is a second state DJ with 5 brief reviews on the rear cover. There is some loss of color along the right edge of the front, some dirt on the rear and chips of color loss but overall a GOOD bright DJ! This First Printing is in very good condition with a former owner's bookplate on the front endsheet. The dustjacket is in good condition with some slight edge chipping and the price clipped from the upper inside corner. The book is autographed by Frank Herbert on the title page. Published in Helsinki by Schildts, Tove Jansson's publisher in her native Finland, the original first printing of the book by which she is arguably best-known nowadays. Printed in the Swedish language. Of legendary scarcity and in superb condition. In the publisher's 1/4 cloth with marble-effect boards, pp. 119 (120), the binding is firm and square, corners sharp. The block remains fresh and white and is free from previous owner names, finger-marking etc. A Fine example. The dustjacket is in VG shape without loss. A small nick to the top edge of the rear panel, minor shelf-wear along the top edge. Fixed to the title-page a beautiful example of the author's hand-signed autograph in green ink. A spectacular copy of this classic work.
