A particularly fresh copy, with slight closed tears (1") at front cover hinge at head and tail. Please see photos. Amid "excitement caused by this gold fever, and the frantic preparations made to get there, and get there quick," Fraser departed San Francisco for Skagway on the S.S. Queen in early January, 1898. "The fever was in the air. The general salutation when you met an acquaintance was, 'Are you going to the Klondike?'." Includes an anecdote about "confidence men of Seattle" -- "Seattle was Klondike crazy. More so, if possible, than San Francisco." Contains two pages on scurvy. The book is in Near Fine condition. Then dust jacket is fair with tears and small pieces missing on the backside and top and bottom edges of the spine. This book is about the underground railroad and is written for ages 5 - 7.

An exceptionally well-preserved copy of a Civil Rights themed publication from late 1967 (or early 1968), published in association with the Unitarian Universalist Project East Bay in Oakland and Emeryville. Includes a short piece urging readers to "Support the Huey P. Newton Defense Fund" as well as writing by adults and children intended to inform a suburban audience about conditions in the inner city.

No edition stated but probably a first; 1962 on title page. Very good condition: shows only very slight use. Appears to be a racist response against the Supreme Court decision on Brown vs. Board of Education. On title page it states "This report has been prepared by commission of the Governor of Alabama." A quote from page 77: "I am sorry that the need to protect the White race and our civilization against the evil results of false and insistent propaganda has made it necessary to present data that may hurt the feelings of some fine and able Negroes, but the alternatives is greater tragedy."
