Chicago: Pioneer Publishing Company, 1915. First edition. Hardcover. Good. Hardbound with leather spine and tips, green boards. No jacket as issued. Volume 1 only of a 2 volume history. Leather heavily rubbed at the corners and joints and worn through to boards at the bottom corners. Long narrow scuff across the front board visible in the photo. Marbled text edges and endpapers. Hinges are solid, but some looseness at the gatherings near the center and final section. All pages intact and still bound in. Previous owner's sticker to the front pastedown, otherwise an unmarked copy. 328 pp., some black and white photo plates. A fascinating local history with chapters on aboriginal inhabitants, public buildings, township histories and church histories. Scarce in its original format.

Tennessee: Southern Publishing Association, 1964. First edition. Hardcover. Good. Green hardcover lacking dustjacket. A good copy with external wear - bending and paper rubbed away at the spine tips. Light soiling to the rear cover and a bit of speckling to the top of the text block. Minorly bowed. Text clean and unmarked except for a number on the rear free endpaper. Hinges and joints in good condition, in a solid binding. 166 pp., an odd little book chronicling the adventures of Genevieve Gildersleeve and her life in Oregon, Alaska and BC during the formation of the Gildersleeve Floating Cities. Written like a story, but more of a biography. Also details her involvement in missionary work to China for the Adventists.

In English, the title translates to "Chief of Artillery Colonel Edmund Zagorski Certified Artillery (1896-1974)" from the series "Polish artillery officers of the armed forces in the West." Small softcover book, signed and inscribed by the author on the half title in Polish in the year of publication. Wear at the edges and corners and a crease spineward to the front cover from being opened and read. Binding solid and all pages clean and unmarked. All wear is external. Text in Polish. 62 pp., some black and white photos from World War II. The author became an engineer for NASA and lived in Ohio at the time of the publication of this book. He was a recipient of Poland's equivalant of our Medal of Honor.

Canada: 97X Squadron Royal Air Force, 1944. First edition. Paperback. Fair. Woolley, P.W.. Blue stapled pamphlet, 35 pages, a souvenir from the 97th air navigation training on Prince Edward Island. The condition is a bit rough with corners bent and curling, some pencil marks to the front cover and a note one page indicating the previous owner's relation to one of the airmen. Soil and a pencilled notation to the tan rear cover. This book seems to have been written and produced by the members of Squadron 97X during the time of their stay on PEI for training. Flight Lieutenant E.F. Dobie and Flying Officer W.J. Birrell are listed as "Men Responsible" so they may have taken and editing hand to this pamphlet. Full page bio and pictures of 21 airmen along with a cartoon, soccer match photo and description of a concert. Signed and inscribed by the author on the front endpaper, "To Tot Gould - the most intelligent woman I know Rich Hugo." A good to very good coy in like jacket. Minor wear to the edges and a couple of scuffs at the spine tips and corners that bring out the white under the brown coloring. First few pages with dogears at the bottom corner (visible in picture). Binding is tight and pages are clean and unmarked. Unclipped dustjacket with matching wear at the corner and spine tips, with age toning to the lighter rear panel and folds.
