Additionally, Vonnegut has drawn a caricature self-portrait in profile on the page; his signature and date are within the full-page drawing. Board cloth with trace of rubbing, lower front board corner with a soft bump, faint dampstaining on the topedge; dustjacket with few shallow tiny wrinkles, a faint dampstain at the spine bottom edge and just-beginning extremity toning. Northridge: Lord John Press, 1990. First edition, limited to 200 numbered and 26 lettered copies signed by Updike. This copy letter "T." 64mo. Type in Monotype Inland Caslon on Frankfurt Cream paper. Designed by Suzanne Watson and printed by Patrick Reagh Printers. Binding by Marianna Blau. Red cloth covered boards in slipcase. Unread copy in Fine condition in a Fine slipcase. Though Updike signed sheets for all copies, he signed I.B. Singer's name on the sheet bound into this copy. Unaware of Updike's signature, the publisher delivered the book to its purchaser who, upon discovering the prank, returned it with the request that Updike also sign this copy which he did with the inscription, "for - all best John Updike." Toronto: Knopf, 2005. First Canadian edition, first prnt. Signed by Rice as "Howard Allen O'Brien" on the title page. Illustrated flyer for the booksigning event laid in. Unread copy in Fine condition in a Fine dustjacket with a Durafold mylar cover. "Howard Allen O'Brien" is, of course, Rice's birth name after her father's name Howard O'Brien. Rice disliked the name and began calling herself "Anne" at age six. Biographical accounts differ on which of her parents was responsible for her birth name. Minimal shelfwear at cloth spine ends and corners, light offsetting to pastedowns and rear free endpage, pages minimally toned; dustjacket with wear at the folds, a quarter-inch chip at the spine top edge and a half-inch chip at the spine bottom edge, corner wear and edgewear, mostly on the topedge, beginning toning on spine, rear panel and flap edges. The book is clean and tight with bright cloth and stamped lettering; the dustjacket despite the chipping and wear is clean, bright and intact.
