The book is fine. The price-clipped dust jacket has minor wear at the head of the spine and at the corners of the front flap fold. A stunning copy of this oversize volume, full of still in color and black and white of Fellini's films. The copy has an interesting associative inscription - from Howard Zief, who was a film director from the 1970s through the 1990s; (his most notable films were Private Benjamin and House Calls). Inscribed to Edward Warschilka, who was the editor of House Calls.

Dodd,, 1941. Second printing in dust jacket. Former rental library copy. The book has tape marks and stamps on the endpapers; endpapers also have foxing. The dust jacket is trimmed from an old-style just jacket protector and has marks on the verso of the flyleaves from being fastened to the endpapers. A detective suspects a screenwriter is guilty of murder; the screenwriter flees to give himself time to find the real murderer. Brooker. Filmmed in 1941 with Betty Grabble.

Macaulay,, 1930.. FIRST EDITION in English in grey boards, lacking the dust jacket. The book is very good with minor wear at the spine ends and fading to the spine. Ramon, as he was referred to, was a respected and eccentric Spanish author. Considered a proto-surrealist, in MOVIELAND he created an idealized Hollywood, as the introduction says, in the tradition of Jules Verne or Hans Christian Andersen.

The unclipped dust jacket has minimal soiling on the rear panel; mild wear at the spine ends and the front flap corners. Bookshop clerk falls in love with an aging Hollywood screenwrtier. (This may have been written after O'Hara's visit to Los Angeles for the filming of his second novel, 'BUtterfield 8.') See & Brooker.

PRESS COPY in blue boards with the dust jacket folded and secured to the front pastedown. Boards are very lightly soiled, somewhat faded at the spine, and the top of the book block is dusty. There is a label on the rear board: "PRESS COPY/Dodd, Mead & Company/Issued 'May 5, 1942.'" See & Brooker. A young adult novel featuring two young girls attempting to break into Hollywood movies. The dust jacket features a pen & ink illustration of a young woman in a cocktail dress lit by a kleig light with various filmmaking figures around her; and three 'stars' with aspects of filmmaking highlighted within the stars.

FIRST EDITION in dust jacket. The book has faint fading to the edges of the boards, otherwise fine. The un-clipped dust jacket has a closed tear on the front panel near the lower front corner and two short closed tears on the top of the rear panel. There are a few spots of foxing on the verso of the dust jacket at the flap folds. A very nice copy.
