This is the rare first US edition, first printing of the first in the Millennium Trilogy, that has gone on to become the best-selling phenomenon of recent times. Book and unclipped jacket are in excellent condition, with slight rubbing to book spine, else fine. Larsson's genius, given that long stretches of the books are tangled with dreary detail and curious Swedish coffee mornings, is to have created characters who we really care about. The action sequences get better and better as the books progress.

The rare, true first printing, with "first edition" on copyright page, correct code I-B, denoting September 1952. Book good, with aging to boards, and owner name to first end page. Unclipped jacket ($2.50) has some wear, with two chips to spine edge. With 4 blurbs to back and publisher is just 'Harper and Brothers'. A lovely, collectible copy of one of the most sought-after children's classics, with brilliant drawings by Garth Williams.
