This beautiful and informative book was published by Beehive Press in 1980, does a lovely job of showcasing his work. An attractive copy of this 1925 history of the contest between Spain and England over the ownership of Georgia. Very light shelf wear on the end of the spine, and the very tips of the outer corner of front and rear covers (no board exposed or break in cloth). Gilt on spine is complete and bright. All maps present and no foxing or marking to pages. Binding sturdy and tight. Signed by Herbert E. Bolton on presentation book plate on front free endpaper: " To my good friend, Joseph W. Flinn, master of the printer's art, collaborator in the making of this book. With grateful regards, Herbert Bolton". Joesph W. Flinn was Superintendent of the University of California Press where this book was printed.

Savannah Georgia: Morning News Print, 1901. First Edition. . Hardcover. Very Good+/None Issued. VG+/1st ed. Jonathan Bryan was born in 1708 in Prince William's parish (Beaufort South Carolina). He was the youngest child of Joseph Bryan, owner of the plantation known as Providence. This is a record of his life in Georgia, starting with the founding of Savannah with Oglethrope, through to his death at age 80, having lived in Georgia for 50 years. Jonathan Bryan was an important civic and political figure in the Georgia and South Carolina colonies, owned a great deal of property in both and owned Brampton Plantation. Book condition is Very Good+; hand sewn binding is firm; there is no foxing, soiling or markings in book. 97pp. First Edition. Brown cloth covered boards have some rubbing to corners, and to the head and tail of spine. Some small spots on back panel. Gilt letter title is bright on front cover. A well preserved copy.

This volume is signed by Mitchell, Martin, and McCall on the half title page. What makes this a truly outstanding copy is McCall's warm inscription on the dedication page to his friends and first Sea Island(Georgia)clients P.L. and Virginia Hay, Jr. Their beautiful home is showcased on pages 97 through 100. This must have been a presentation copy, as it's signed and dated at Christmas time 1985, the year of publication. This copy is clean and tight, with no wear. The jacket is housed in a plastic sleeve, it has wonderful strong color and no nicks or tears. A excellent display of McCall's remarkable homes.

Prior to 1805 land in Georgia was distributed by a headright system. Book is clean and tight, with no markings or soiling, several spots of color lost on cloth. Very light shelf wear on all corners. No previous owner labels, not an ex-library book or remainder.. There is one very small section on the front cover that has faded (looks like a price tag may have been attached). The body of this book( pages 1 through 393 ) consists of a transcription of all data in the original Land Lottery manuscript, which is located in the Georgia Department of Archives and History in Atlanta. The introduction explains the act authorizing the 1805 Land lottery, who was eligible, and how many draws the participants were allowed. The next pages (xiii-xxi)reproduce the Act itself. The boards are covered with a brown textured buckram, gold lettering, and a picture of the painting depicting the "Filthy Thirteen" getting ready for their flight and jumping into Normandy. No wear to inside or outside of book. High quality paper, lots of maps, lots of photos, lots of information about each member of the Filthy Thirteen (these guys were the inspiration for the Dirty Dozen').
