scarce miniature Hilye by an Ottoman calligrapher mainly came from Bursa in Turkey and lived in Bagdad. Only one work by Suleyman Vehbi was recorded by Ibn ul Emin Mahmud Kemal Inal ( Son Hattatlar p. 451 ) in Top Kapi Museum written in 1247 H. (1830 ). Also there is an example of the calligrapher student's; Halil Sukru in the Turk Hattatlari of Sevket Rado p. 210. The example shows a typical script else in the text and signature of Suleyman el Vehbi. measurments: 14 x 9 cm. ( smaller than hand ).

Tow copies of this rare book are existed in Laval and Pennsylvania Universities. The Koran was translated into Latin for the first time on the order of Peter the Venerable (1092-1156), the well known abbot of Cluny . During a journey to Spain in order to visit Cluniac monasteries (1142) he was able to engage two scholars for various translation projects which were connected with Peter's aim to convert Muslim people in a peaceful way. As the principal requirement for such a task he recognised the knowledge of the genuine sources of the Islamic religion, above all the Koran. The translator of the Koran was Robert of Ketton (Robertas Ketenensis) who did his work with the help of a certain Spanish Muslim named Muhammad. Abdullah al Giridi (initially from Crete) born and died in Egypt . He was a historian and admiral in the Egyptian navy . He learned in the naval school where he appointed as a director there , then a deputy of the ministry of war . He participated in the revolutionary movement of Orabi Pasha but didn't judged . Beside Arabic, he was fluent in English , French, Italian, Turkish, and some in Russian. He wrote a comprehensive work on history called : Haqa'iq al Akhbar 'an Doual al Bihar , which printed in three volumes in Bulaq , Cairo. (Khayr du Din al Zirikli : al A'laam vol. 1 p. 310)
