VG- in cloth (sl wear/head&foot of spine; sl stains/rub to cvrs). small 8vo 284pp Five-act historical play, dealing with the troubled interregnum betw een Henry VIII and Elizabeth I. 'Author's edition, from advance sheets' (ti tle page); notable for the use of the word 'bastard' throughout the first scene (a strongly tabooed word then). Printed by the Franklin Press, Rand, A very, and Company, Boston. Exterior as noted (slight bumping and scuffing t o corners); slight wear, creases and previous owner's pencil markings to endpapers; few previous owner's pencil annotations to few leaves; slight internal browning to edges, else a fairly serviceable copy.
