Peking: China Record Company, 1967. Set of two 33 1/3 record albums, with selections from the Cultural Revolution production as performed by the No. 1 Company of the China Peking Opera Theatre. The pictorial sleeves are lightly worn; records appear flawless. The English text on the sleeves marks these as made for export; the performances are still in Chinese however. The main character is a railway switchman and member of the Chinese Communist Party who uses the switchman's lantern to signal guerrillas who fight the Japanese. He is captured, tortured, and killed, but his daughter inherits the red lantern and carries on revolutionary activity.
