First edition, first impression (Bloomsbury Publishing Plc, 1997). One of 5,150 copies published simultaneously with the first hardback edition, of which there were reportedly 500 copies. This example is also accompanied by a rare card signed by the author featuring the iconic artwork from the front cover of the book. All first impression issue points are present.

Original pictorial covers. Some of the usual fading to the spine and toning to edges with minor signs of spotting to top edge. Neat previous over name to half-title and small area of light browning to the top edge and one solitary very small spot to the bottom corner of a couple of the opening pages. A few spots to final few pages with a larger area of browning to the rear with some associated lighter spotting to inside of rear cover. Contents are very nice and clean otherwise and the covers and spine are in almost pristine condition with barely any signs of wear, making the book present as unread.

A very good copy indeed of one of the most famous and popular works of modern fiction accompanied by the author's signature. Rare thus.
