What should I do if a customer's e-mail bounces or is invalid?

If you receive an order where the customer's email bounces back to you as invalid or undeliverable, we recommend using your best judgment and discretion as far as contacting them in these circumstances, but here are a couple tips which may help:

  • Call the customer by phone if a number has been provided

  • If you are familiar with basic service providers then you might attempt to correct the email (e.g., bob@aol.cm is actually bob@aol.com.)
  • If you suspect this to be a fraudulent address contact mailto address=$GLOBALS.BOOKSELLER_SERVICE_EMAIL encode=javascript}.
