How do I handle orders shipping to Australia and New Zealand?

Australia (Effective July 1, 2018) A 10% Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be levied on imported goods with a customs value of AUD $1,000 or less.

New Zealand (Effective October 1, 2019) A 10% Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be levied on imported goods with a customs value of NZD $1,000 or less.

Biblio will be required to calculate and remit 10% of the order total (including postage) on these goods when ordered through our venue and shipped from outside Australia and New Zealand to customers within Australia and New Zealand. We will display a book price to customers that includes 10% GST for items priced at NZD $1,000 and AUD $1,000 or less.

The addition of GST to such orders will not affect the amount sellers are paid nor will it affect commissions or payment processing fees. GST for those orders is calculated by Biblio during checkout and is paid by the customer ordering the book (the bookseller is not responsible for paying GST). Biblio will then remit GST to appropriate tax authorities.

You'll be able to print a packing slip /shipping label containing the relevant mailing details on applicable orders. If you create your own shipping label for those orders, please include the following information on the outside of the package, to help ensure successful import:

Biblio will add this information to the packing slip for applicable orders and the order details screen will also indicate that GST was collected on the order.
