The Viavi Gynelogical Plates (circa 1891) - : Includes 2 Diagnosis "Application Forms" & Sales Suggestions for Viavi Representatives

This Book was publish as both a Sales Tool and a Reproductive Health education tool for Mother's and Daughters. I am not sure exactly what "Cure" they were selling, but based on the "science" of the day as written in these materials, I would be worried....very worried.

While not as accurate as the Anatomy Books of today, the period artwork is exquisite.

Unfortunately, this book is in tatters. The two Cover Boards are separated, and the pages are yet separated from the Cover Boards. The Content Pages are still tied together and complete. All 9 Color Plates and 2 Black & White Drawings are present and intact.

Also included, are items not often found with copies of this book seen on-line. First is a pair of "Application Forms" to request a treatment plan from diagnosticians at Viavi (Eastern Viavi Company, Inc. in Chicago, IL or Washington, D.C.). Included here is a 16 Page booklet entitled, "Suggestions for Viavi Representatives".

I found an article in a 1907 medical review about claims and cases against the Viavi, including wrongful death suits, where the company was called "Quacks". There apparently were several investigations on the company and in methods.
