Dearborn, Michigan: The Edison Institute , 1938. Near Fine condition. First edition of Vol. 2. Scarce in condition as nice as this. Bright, clean, tight, and unmarked. 4.5" wide by 7.25" tall. No store stamp, owner's name or bookplate. No underlining. No highlighting. No margin notes. Profusely illustrated with hundreds of portraits, photos, drawings, and document facsimiles. The title page states "Copyright Nineteen Hundred and Thirty-eight" and there are no additional printings listed. This is volume 2 only (of 3). It covers the years 1879-1882 (mostly 1880-1882) and contains chapters 54-90. It is divided into Part Three (Early Development of Incandescent Electric Lighting, 1879 to 1880) and Part Four (Later Development, 1880 to 1882). Index.
