18 x 12 cm , Approx. 1000 p. of buff paper ruled in gold .13 lines to the page . written in naskh script in black ink, verses separated by gold roundels, catchwords, various illuminated marginal devices, surah headings in white against floral gold panels, opening double-page (Ser levha) illuminated frontispiece comprising interlacing split-palmettes against a thick gold ground of vegetation, tooled leather binding with large gold motifs touched in Red . Flap with golden motifs signed : Mihriban Sozer and dated 1947 . Colophon signed by Semseddin bin Suleyman in 1144 H. - 1732 Ad.

The calligrapher came from Sivas in Anatolia to Istanbul where he learned calligraphy from Seyyid Abdullah (Yedi Kuleli) , one the Ottoman calligraphy codec names and took an Ijazah from him . Semseddin was a traveller and a calligraphy teacer in the school of the prime minister Nuh Efendi . He was alive in approx. 1192 when he was an employee in the Rum eli court then Anaboli observatory . He written 25 Qur'ans . ( Mustakim zade : Tuhfe-i Hattatin 227)

Mihriban Sozer Keredin (1912 - 2010) is a Turkish illustrator who learned from Ismail Hakki Altubezer , Yakup Capanoglu and Prof. Dr. Suheyl Unver . She sutdied in the fine art Academy and became an assistant in 1941 . She worked in the Top Kapi Saray as a Miniature and illustration expert . She added a new classic motif methods to the common Ottoman illustrtion methods . She became a well known with her special characters , and participated in several mosques and shrine restoration works in Istanbul , Edirne and Bursa . She also prepared some motifs whish has been used in the Turkish bank notes . (Ketebe)
