[EISTEINIANA; LETTER OF WIFE OF BEST FRIEND HANS MUHSAM LETTER 1966] MINNA MUHSAM [sometimes Muehsam] handwritten letter signed/ALS, 1 page/about 200 words, 6-1/2" x 8" with letterhead in English and Hebrew, from Haifa - Achusa, July 1966 (from postmark on envelope, letter undated), text in English, the surviving wife Minna of Hans Muhsam, Einstein's best friend about 1915, replies to a letter from Yale doctor-professor working on a book about Einstein and Newton quoting some words by Einstein about her husband in German recognizing that Hans Muhsam was first among his friends and they went for walks together, apologizing for poor grammar since she is not accustomed to writing in English, Minna Muhsam writes in part, "With the greatest love I am sending you the photographs [not present] of my husband…he was the physician and the best friend of Professor Einstein…Einstein visited us several times the day [sic]…I have 20 handwritten letters of Einstein, partly of personal contents, partly of scientific contents…", ending with postscript after her signature Minna Miriam Muhsam that her husband would read her newspaper articles on Einstein and that her husband said Einstein was a "bigger" scientist than Newton because he disproved Newton, comes with envelope with Israel stamps and postal markings including "Registered," handwritten address, and on back New Haven, Conn.
