About This Item
This popular film and television actor is most often remembered for "Twister" (1996) and "Titanic" (1997). IPS, heavy stock 5" X 7", n.p., n.y. Near fine. Black-and-white printed postcard, image side bearing an informal head-and-shoulders portrait of a sober young Paxton in classic 1980s mullet haircut. Across the dark bottom, in bright silver ink, he boldly inscribes and signs "To Richard / Every good wish / Regards / Bill Paxton." Verso bears postal cancellation from Los Angeles on 18 November 1988 and is addressed by Paxton to Richard C. Laade. On lefthand message portion, he writes a cordial note to this admirer, reading in part: "I've just returned from Chicago where I was filming 'Next of Kin' with Patrick Swayze. Great town!" and boldly signed again. "Next of Kin" was an action thriller released in 1989 and also featured Liam Neeson -- along with Paxton's future "Twister" co-star Helen Hunt. A choice and incredibly early example.
