1964. Signed, First Edition. BAS-Authenticated Roald Dahl Signature with Letter of Authenticity. Signed on the title page by Roald Dahl, not on a paste-in, but directly on the page (without any inscriptions to anyone). This is the second issue of the first edition. Bound in red cloth boards, mustard colored end-papers, chocolate colored top edge of text block, and five-line colophon. Illustrations of the original Oompa-Loompa characters; which were changed in later editions. The book is in Very Good condition, clean, tight and solid binding. Dust jacket is in very good condition and is not price clipped - $3.95. The dust jacket and book are protected in a clear, removable Mylar protective cover. Near Fine Condition except for the following minor issues: (1) Red cloth boards are lightly faded/discolored from age, however remain in very good condition. (2) Dust Jacket has a small 0.75 inch tear at the top of the front cover, near spine. See cover photo. (3) Back cover of dust jacket has a small amount of damage from the removal of the original purchase sticker. See photo of back cover. (4) Top of chocolate colored text block has a couple discoloration spots - see photo. ADDITIONAL PHOTOS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.

This story is an adventures of young Charlie Bucket inside the chocolate factory of eccentric candymaker Willy Wonka. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was first published in the United States by Alfred A. Knopf, Inc. in 1967, and in the United Kingdom by George Allen & Unwin in 1967.
