Sheila Burnford (1918 – 1984)

Sheila Burnford was a British Canadian writer born in Scotland on May 11, 1918, and brought up in various parts of the UK before she emigrated to Canada in 1951.

She is best known for her 1961 book The Incredible Journey. The Incredible Journey was made into a Disney film in 1963, and later remade as Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey in 1993.

She died on the 20th of April, 1984 at the age of 64 from cancer.
