Henry Howard Houston Woodward (1896-1918) was from a prominent Philadelphia family, attended Yale University, but left school early in 1917 at enlist in the American Ambulance Field Service. After serving in France several months, Woodward transferred in July, 1917 to the Franco-American Aviation Corps. After training, he flew with Escadrille Spad 94, and was killed in action near Montdidier April 1, 1918. This is a presentation copy, signed by his father George Woodward, Yale 1887, and presented to Charles O. Scoville, dated March 1920.
