First edition of this very scarce first brochure issued by the Desmond Park Service after they were awarded the 20-year concession to operate camps, stores, a dairy and garage, saddle horse service, and transportation facilities in Yosemite. However, the project required the construction of two major lodges, improving the camp sites, and the company struggled through financial difficulties, resulting in the fact that the company changed its name to the Yosemite National Park Co. First edition of this very rare dealer’s brochure/brochure for the famed 1963 Volkswagen Type 2 23-window Samba Van with the split windshield which featured bi-parting doors in lieu of a sliding door, and was also available with a large fabric sunroof, and featured two-tone colour paint schemes. Powered by the 1500 cc engine introduced in 1963, this Samba Van could still fit into a VW Beetle’s parking space.

Included here are apparel and uniforms for women and men aviators, flight suits, helmets, goggles, identification jewelry, Zippo lighters, Wittnauer all-proof watches, rings, and fleece-lined boots. In addition, there is a well-illustrated section on all of the books available at the time, ranging from Sunt Flying by Captain Duncan to Dyke’s Automotive Encyclopedia.
