[Texas] XIT Ranch Photograph Album. [Circa 1890] Photograph album with twelve images 3 8/7 x 4 7/8 in. The album's front cover is detached and the back cover is missing. Photographs are silvered. Good. Rare photographs of the Buffalo Springs Division of the XIT Ranch, which encompassed portions of Texas and the Oklahoma Territory panhandle. . Most phots have a pencil-written caption. There are two photos of a woman named Ada. Captions are: "Ranch House the girl is Ada," "This is where we lived last year," "This is where we shine," (building fence), "Jennie & Jack," "This is Ada & her chum," "Oklahoma Scenery" (two toddlers playing outside a house with a big wagon in the background--a remarkable image of a child's view of the Panhandle!), "Cow Boys", "This is another Oklahoma Scene," "Milke pen calves," (two untitled of geese), "Branding Pen." Also an image of the cook house of the Buffalo Springs Division (as identified by the XIT Museum.)
