Description:
London: Privately printed, 1907. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Large, scarce, leather-bound souvenir volume privately published on the occasion of the jubilee celebration of XI King Edward's Own Lancers (Probyn's Horse) Rawal Pindi in 1907. Contains 17 gelatin silver prints mounted on thick tan boards. Two of the photos show up as in possession at the Royal Collection Trust, and one photo was being offered online, perhaps extracted from a now nonexistent copy of the book. But no other copies of album or photos show up anywhere. The condition of the book and the pictures is excellent, solid, clean, minimal wear. Each page of photos has a piece of protective paper over it. Album is 16 1/2 inches wide, 14 1/2 inches tall, and 2 1/2 inches thick. Unpacked weight is 13 pounds. From the estate of Donald Skinner, military collector extraordinaire.
