John D. Morris and Company, 1902. Hardcover. Six-volume set. Eton Edition de Luxe: #526 of 1000 numbered sets. Very good condition. Dark green cloth over boards with contrasting grain patterns. Three-color title pages under tissue facing illustration frontispiece on all volumes. Top edge gilt; fore and bottom edges deckled. Clean and tight textblocks; slight age tanning of leaves and browning of endpapers and spine labels. No cracks in binding and minimal shelf wear to spine ends on all volumes except Vol. 6, which is slightly bumped and cloth darkened on the spine heel. Owner bookplates on each front pastedown 'Owen Shoemaker,' owner of the historic bookbinder supplies company J. L. Shoemaker & Company of Philadelphia, established 1880-1954.

The Chesterfield Society. Edition De Luxe. Hardcover. No date [ca. 1900]. Good condition overall. Set is #175 of one thousand sets printed for subscribers. Red pebbled cloth boards, slightly soiled. Gilt on top edge; deckled on other edges. Covers show some scratches and minor shelf wear to corners and spine ends. Spine labels show browning and minor scratches and nicks. Leaves are slightly age-tanned, heavier on endpapers; slight tears to several leaves of the set. Text blocks mainly clean and tight to binding. Binding of Vol. 1 is cracked; some bindings of other volumes show very minor cracking. Owner bookplate on front pastedowns: 'Owen Shoemaker,' who was the owner of the historic bookbinder supplies company J. L Shoemaker & Co. of Philadelphia, established 1880-1954.
