Occasional notes and underlining in graphite pencil as well as light red pencil.. With four pieces of signed correspondence from Guedalla to William Y. Wemple, written on stationery from Villa Margherita in Charleston, The St. Moritz Hotel in New York, and 5 Hyde Park Street, London, ca.1932-1933, The letter from the St. Moritz has been tipped onto preliminary leaf. A typed copy of a letter from Wemple to Guedalla dated May 13, 1932 is included. Guedalla's handwriting is difficult to read, and there are a few penciled notations above some of the words, presumably by previous owner. Preliminary leaves also contain Wemple's bookplate, as well as a newspaper photo of Guedalla glued to leaf listing his writings. Illustrated. 536 pages, including Authorities and Index.
