Philadelphia: W.H. Thompson Jr., 1905. Near Fine. 1 sheet 14 x 21 cm. with engraved letterhead produced by E.A. Wright, Philadelphia, showing a radiant diamond along with "W.H. Thompson Jr., Importer of Diamonds, Philadelphia." The business was at 35 1/2 S. 8th St. Above and below the diamond, it states "High Grade Watches" and " Artistic Diamond Jewelry." The receipt indicates that Mrs. Allin Kline had purchased a diamond ring for $50. W.H. Thompson, Jr., was in business for about 30 years, retiring in 1922. In Near Fine Condition: one horizontal and three vertical folds, with minor separation at end of one vertical fold; clean and bright.

The manuscript was held by the Pennsylvania State Library and microfilmed in 1970, but not properly published until this edition. Projects of the Federal Writers' Project included the well-known state and city guides, as well as studies of American ethinic and racial minorities, some of which were published at the time or subsequently, such as The Florida Negro with contributions by Zora Neale Hurston, published in 1993. The 24 leaves each consist of a register in which one would note the title, to whom a book was loaned, and when. The right-hand section of each leaf is perforated so that it can be removed and put in the book being borrowed, with space to note who it was borrowed from and when, below an illustration. A clever idea, which has not been used in this case. In Very Good+ Condition: cover is lightly soiled; internally clean and bright.
