Harmony Books. New York. 1995. First Edition stated; First Printing ("1" in number line on copyright page). 283 pages plus 4 pages of tables/charts at end. The blue covers and black spine are in very good plus condition. The only issues are a tiny tear in the cloth at the top of the spine and faint scuffing near the bottom. The title and author are in silver color on the spine. The binding is solid. The dust jacket is in very good condition; there is some fraying along the top edge and small creasing at the bottom of the spine. The dust jacket is bright and attractive. The interior of the book is in near fine condition. It is clean and bright with no writing or makings detected. The book appears to be unread. This is a very nice copy of the book that was awarded the John Burroughs Medal for Nature Writing in 1996.

The dust jacket is generally in very good condition; there is one small tear (1/2 ") and some glue residue from a sticker on the back of the dust jacket. There is some very minor fraying in spots along the edge of the jacket. The jacket is intact, with the price ($19.95) on the inside flap. The dust jacket is protected in a clear, archival removable cover. The binding is solid. The interior of this book is in very good plus condition.
