London: London, 1951. First edition. near fine. Octavo (22 cm); [8], 9-496 pp.; dust jacket. Blue cloth with gilt spine. Book is in Near Fine condition with some light spotting to endpapers, but clean throughout. Cheap paper is a bit browned. Text completely in Polish. Unclipped and scarce dust jacket is very slightly rubbed with a couple of nicks along the top. Near Fine. Zbigniew Stypulkowski was a prominent member of the Polish Underground State and one of the leaders arrested and interrogated by the Soviet authorities under Stalin. He was sentenced in the sham trial known as the Trial of the Sixteen and later exiled to Great Britain. This title was later expanded and published under the title, Invitation to Moscow. And scarce and intimate picture into Poland's underground struggle against both Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union.

An issue of Tom Metzger's notorious newspaper featuring cover artwork of a white man standing amidst a group of Hispanics representing various stereotypes. Similar cartoons are included throughout, including a large spoof ad for "Meanie Babies," "the first series of collectable dolls created just for Jews," which includes Hitler, white power skinhead and SS guard dolls. Plain, stapled, illustrated wrappers; 24 pp. A relatively scarce expose of ex-King Michael of Romania and his history of graft, exploitation and fascist conspiracy. The author, editor of the Romanian progressive weekly newspaper, "Romanul American," in Detroit accuses American big business interests of collaborating with an anti-democratic, anti-Semite and that the Truman administration should instead befriend the new communistic Romania and its people. New York: International Pamphlets, 1932. On the ways by which Wall Street and the capitalist ruling class control the government, foment war, and oppress the working class. Profiled are J. P. Morgan & Co., the Rockefellers, Kuhn, Loeb & Co., and other financial firms. Rochester claims that only the Communist Party threatens the power and influence of Wall Street. Christchurch, Hants: The Free Age Press, 1907. First Edition. A collection of realistic and allegorical illustrations by Emile Holarek representing the horrors of war and its antagonism to Christianity, with text from the writings of Leo Tolstoy and others. One of many Tolstoy publications issued by The Free Age Press, the publishing imprint established by Vladimir Chertkov in England in 1900 following his exile from Russia. With a small catalog laid in featuring a printed letter from Tolstoy to the front cover. A fragile title issued on cheap paper and very prone to chipping. Red, illustrated wrappers (9 ¾" x 12"), not paginated, illus. Wear, chipping and soiling to wrappers, small closed tears and nicks to the margins of most pages, but not affecting illustrations or text; 5" closed tear along the top of the first leaf; chipping along the bottom pages edges and bottom right corner. The text block is mostly separated from the wrappers. A Good only copy of a scarce title.

London: The Unity Band, 1934. First edition. Originally published in the British Fascist's journal, "The British Lion" - which Lt.-Col. Oscar Boulton & his Unity Band bought out in 1932 - Lane lambastes the U.S. for trying to collect her WWI war debt and contends that America sold Britain faulty munitions and mishandled money that was never accounted for. Col. Arthur Henry Lane (1868-1938) was one of Britain's most active anti-Semites. His most notorious work was The Alien Menace and he was associated with nearly every extreme right group operating in Britain before WWI. One of those organizations was Unity Band, founded by Lt.-Col. Oscar Boulton around 1930, which he ran almost single-handedly until it dissolved in 1939. Stapled wrappers (7" x 5"), 8 p. Wannenburg, a South African expositor of British Israelism, refutes the notion that Christ was black, promotes the Biblical mandate for racial separatism, and echoes the theory that the Jews are the Synagogue of Satan. Washington, D. C.: Columbia Publishing Co, 1946. Second Edition. In this book, which is described as the "factual story of the Washington Scene from 1933 to date, sugar coated with breezy satire to forestall an epidemic of bursted blood vessels on the part of persons reading it," the acerbic, right wing journalist Morris Bealle satirizes the many politicians and government agencies he accuses of supporting FDR's Communist New Deal. In Part I: The Collectivistas, he selects 12 politicians to skewer by giving them humorous names (e.g., Doodlebug Wallace, Me-Too Stassen, The Paducah Palooka, Pussyfoot Joe, The Cockroach, Coat Tail Guffey, etc) while describing their dastardly deeds. This pamphlet contains the first motion made by the Labor Youth League at hearings before the Subversive Activities Control Board, which began November 30, 1953 in Washington...," and is "an indictment of the growing menace of fascism in our country - McCarthyism" (p. 2). The hearings were the result of a petition filed by Attorney General Herbert Brownell to proscribe the Labor Youth League under the McCarran Act. The LYL was founded in 1949 under the aegis of the Communist Party and was essentially a continuation of American Youth for Democracy. It dissolved in 1956. Stapled, illustrated wrappers (9" x 6"), 48 p., cover design + six internal illustrations by F. S. Lambert. Some edgewear, else Near Fine.

A near fine or better copy with some darkening to bottom board edges and a faint pink stain to bottom edge. Price sticker to front endpaper, else clean throughout. Unclipped dust jacket is near fine with a hint of general rubbing, mostly to the rear panel. This title was part of the "We Go" series, in which each title featured two young people circumnavigating the world.

The booklet's title comes from a speech delivered by Nikita Khrushchev. Through maps, graphs, and photographs, the booklet documents the spread of Communism and its blueprint for "conquest and domination." Concludes with suggestions for combating Communism. n.p.: n.p., 1970. An unattributed poster featuring illustrations of Eldridge Cleaver, Jane Alpert, Father Daniel Berrigan, H. Rap Brown, and Bernardine Dohrn sitting around a roasting pig, with their "outlaw" credentials listed underneath. The poster's text describes a new "Underground Railroad" for fugitives willing to "fight slavery, abolish an unjust system, and win their freedom." The poster's title was taken from the lyrics to a Jefferson Airplane song and became one of the counterculture's rallying cries. Offset lithograph, printed in blue on off white stock (17" x 22"). Light wear, primarily to the left edge and the top left corner. Two copies in OCLC at UVA and UC Irvine.

A book chronicling the disappearance of Armenian and Turkish activists beginning in 1915 and the Saturday Mothers who continue to protest and remember their disappearances. Scarce. "This literary work treats many problems preoccupying our present society: the creative work of our working class, the struggle against the old world-outlook, the campaign against bureaucracy, the education and re-education of the new man, the link established between the intellectuals and the masses, the devotion and many other aspects of the life of our own days" (from an assessment of I. Corp.'s development plans around Drexel and Penn. Includes a long profile of the West Philadelphia Corporation, on an injunction prohibiting the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority from demolishing any buildings related to the expansion, an article reprinted from the Distant Drummer on FBI involvement in the dispute, and other brief community organizing tidbits. Tabloid format printed on newsprint, 4 p., illus. Fine. One copy in OCLC at UPenn., although we note copies in Emory's Black Print Culture Collection and at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania.

Author's inscription in Italian on half title page reads (roughly): "The brother Avertino Pacchia already a connoisseur of a life of thought and action as well as of great courage and love for freedom." Some light penciled notations to about half a dozen pages, else clean throughout. Lacking the dust jacket. A scarce novel set in Italian Alps by the Rev. John Tron, who was a minister at the Italian Presbyterian Church in Montclair, NJ, and professor of romance languages at Bloomfield College. OCLC locates only three copies in institutions.

Bristol: S. E. Parker, [196-]. A handbill and pamphlet stating the positions of individualist-anarchism by one of its best known expositors, E. Armand, one of numerous pseudonyms of French anarchist Lucien-Ernest Juin (1872-1962). Armand was a prolific writer and edited no less than eight anarchist journals. Both items were published by fellow individualist, the Englishman Sidney Parker, and issued from his home at 75 Cotswold Road, Bristol. Parker and Armand corresponded before Armand's death and Armand apparently "charged" Parker with "reanimat[ing] the individualist anarchist movement in all the countries of the English language" (from a 1993 interview with archivist Trevor Blake available at the invaluable Union of Egoists website). This led to the printing of these two items, as well as Armand's "Anarchism and Individualism," which Parker published after Armand's death. Berkeley: Poeba Press, 1938. A small format booklet explaining the purpose and structure of the Order of the Great White Empire, a "world-wide Fraternal Order devoted to the mental, moral, and material welfare of the White Caucasian Race." The Order existed from approximately 1936-38 and was led by Clayton R. Tinsley, a public school teacher who later founded Tinsley Laboratories, a manufacturer of telescopes, binoculars, etc. Meetings were held at Tinsley's home at 3017 Wheeler Street, Berkeley, and included secret rituals and colorful pageantry, all presided over by the Mystical Phalanx, the group's legislative and administrative body. Membership was available to "every man, woman and child in the wide world whose blood has none other than White Caucasian intermixture for at least three generations," and one of the stated benefits of membership was assistance seeking employment, promotion, or the promotion of member businesses. Revised. 12mo; plain, stapled wrappers, 24 pp. First published in 1948 by the Fundamentalist pastor, Garman accuses the Federal Council of anti-Americanism, near-Communism, and of being anti-Christian. The Federal Council (or National Council of the Churches of Christ) became a frequent target of Christian Fundamentalists and the anti-Communist right for its social justice mission and connections with civil rights organizations. A final edition was published in 1957 and expanded to 30 pp. Currently (Aug., 2018), no copies of any edition in commerce.
