Each measures 48 x 28 cm, with illustrated covers, each month illustrated by Sandell's distinctive work. Both with moderate edgewear, 1988 with staining throughout.Months and days of the week are given in both Hawaiian and English; holidays and local personalities' birthdays are noted. A native of southern California, Sandell got his start drawing what he called "atrocious cartoons" for the Lahaina Sun in the early 1970s, eventually branching into more structured drawing, painting and t-shirt production.
