Full leather with raised spine bands and gilt lettering and decoration. All edges of text block are gilded. Marbled end leaves. Covers show rubbing along joints of covers at spine and there is a one inch crack along the top joint and crown. Rubbing along all edges of covers. Gilt remains bright. Volume remains tight with nearly fine contents and covers are clean and very presentable. Lovely copy of this scarce first edition volume, though with some fairly minor flaws.

N/P: The Government of Uganda, 1964. First Edition, Thus . Cloth - Hard Cover. Good/No Dust Jacket. 4to. 159 pages, plus plates, plus folder with eight folding maps. Folder with maps is affixed to bottom cover of volume. Presentation letter is tipped in at front of volume from the first author Langdale-Brown to a Dr. Eppling on University of Edinburgh letter head. Letter is dated 1965. Cloth covers show a couple light smudges and corners are slightly bumped. A journal review has been affixed to the blank verso of the front free end leaf and there is a little darkening seen as a result on the title page. Maps are all in very good condition.

There is fairly light wear at spine ends and corners. End leaves are a little soiled, and there are small stains on edges of text block. Volume remains tight.

Five of six plates present, though lacking the plate on verso of title page. Remaining five plates are laid in place, though have yet to be tipped in. Small book plate on front paste down. Slight age toning. Otherwise a solid and very nice copy.

N/P: Self Published, 1940. Third Edition . Soft cover. Fair/No Jacket. 8vo. Very interesting association copy, being from the private library of Harry Woodring, with his signature at the top of the title page; Woodring was Secretary of War under Theodore Roosevelt from 1936 to 1940 (He was also governor of Kansas from 1931-32); This anti-Sematic writing was an effort on the part of its author to argue against the United States involvement in World War II and was highly critical of Roosevelt and his administration; Overall condition grades only as Fair; There are penciled scribbles on the front cover, including an inverted swastika and there is orange highlighting over the edition statement (on front cover); The first page of text has the outer edge torn off, though not affecting any of the text; Scattered smudges and soiling; Corners are bumped; Despite faults, this volume remains tight and complete, and all of the text is very clear.

Nurnberg: Christoph Weigel, 1724. Vellum. Good/No Dust Jacket. Three parts together in one volume, each with separate pagination. Part I: 156 pages, plus 141 numbered plates and frontispiece. Part II: 111 pages, plus 108 numbered plates, frontispiece, and un-numbered plate preceding page 1. Contemporary vellum binding. Museum book plate on front paste down, and small number sticker on top cover near head of spine. Vellum is a little soiled, though otherwise good. Front free end page and first frontispiece show a little wear along edges, as well as inked numbers and inscription dated 1855. Small older inked stamp on title page. Occasional small and light foxing and soiling in contents. Last 20 leaves with faint tide mark in lower margin and not affecting text or images. Overall a solid and very presentable copy in contemporary binding and with all plates called for, collated and present.

Top hinge (internal) is broke, though text block remains tight and well attached to covers. There is a little separation between first blank page and title page. Penciled names on blank front free end leaves. Lower fore edges is chipped and there is a little general moisture staining and wear. Contents are generally clean and otherwise intact.

Cloth covers show wear at corners and spine ends, as well as a little light rubbing along edges. Top hinge is cracked, though text block remains tight and well attached to covers. Some smudges on edges of leaves. 1940 letter head of Kansas City Vestment Co., is laid in.
