Hand-tinted (clothing), with a facsimile of Villele's signature beneath. Sheet size is 29cm x 46cm / 11.5 x 18 inches. At left: "Bazin". At right: "G. Lith. de Delpech.". A nice clean copy, light foxing. Several varieties and sizes of these lithographs exist, with and without facsimile signatures. Presumed to be the third of three known bindings; the first binding is in pictorial cloth, and the second binding has gilt lettering on the spine. Old stain to back cover, but otherwise this is a clean, very good copy. Fantastic adventures of a son of Odin, many times reincarnated. Locke, Spectrum of Fantasy I, pg. 98.

Lyon: Perisse / Paris: Duchesne, 1768. First edition. 8vo. ([pi]4, (A-E)8, F4.) Disbound, sewn, very good. Woodcut on title, several head & tailpieces. Defective, lacking leaf [pi]1 (blank or half-title) and [pi]3 (printed: first two pages of foreword). The missing pages of the foreword are present in photocopy. Sobry (1743 - 1820 was a native of Lyon, at various times a writer, architect, lawyer and policeman. He had a printing press in Paris at the time of the revolution. His books are all very uncommon. This is an historical play set in Stockholm, in the palace of the King of Sweden.

Paris: Printed by Henry Maillet, under the Direction of Henry Babou, 1945. The first issue of this periodical. Pictorial wrappers, quarto, original glassine (chipped). Some modest wear to edges, very short tears to the overhanging margin of one plate, a clean very good copy. Contributions by Paul Valéry, Albert Camus, Jacques Prévert; art by Gilioli, Fautrier, Garnier, Villon, & Dum. There were three issues published (1945-46), of which this is the first. This is Exemplaire No. 39 of the Série Luxe. The Noel Dum illustration is double-page, in color, and with a short text by Paul Eluard.

Naples, George Hackert, [c.1790]. . An engraving on laid paper. Image size is 54.5cm x 37cm, on a sheet measuring 59cm x 44cm. In lower right: "No. 3". Beneath image on the left side: "Ph. Hackert pinx:". Beneath the image on the right: "Gio de Grado sculp. / G Hackert direxit". Short tears to margins, longer closed tear at upper right (hardly visible), evidence of some ancient light staining to right side, very good condition, trimmed to the plate mark. One of a series of engravings of Ports of the Two Sicilies, engraved by Giovanni de Grado from paintings by Jacob Philip Hackert. Others in the set include (Veduta del Porto di Barletta - No. 1) and (Veduta del Porto di Taranto - No.2), both in the collection of the Rijksmuseum, and visible on their site. NY: Holt, 1922. First American edition. Black cloth designed and lettered in gilt. Name penned on front end paper, otherwise a very nice clean copy. An attractive binding design, of a magic lamp and its fumes.

NY: Putnam's/London: Murray, 1904. First American edition.. Blue cloth lettered in gilt. Short tears in the margins of a couple of pages, moderate shelf wear, a bright very good copy. A clever novel addressing the questions of orthodox Christian beliefs and science.

London: Dawson, 1968. Reprinted from the original editions of 1930-1955.. Six volumes. 4to. Printed boards, blue cloth spines lettered in gilt. Some light wear to the boards, one pencil mark (cover of Volume II), a few abrasions from sticker removals from the lower back covers; in general, a very clean and unmarked set, which appears never to have been read or used. George Vertue was a great English engraver, and a noted antiquary. His note books were purchased after his death by Horace Walpole, who based his Anecdotes of Painting in England (5 volumes, 1762–1771) on them. The Walpole Society volumes were supplied only to subscribers, and are uncommon. Three of the volumes have frontispieces, and there are numerous illustrations within the text. This is a heavy set which will incur extra postage costs.

[Augsburg?]: Chaffat, [c.1740]. . A copper engraved map, sea coloured green, coloured cartouche in lower right corner. Compass rose & several sailing ships. Imprint within cartouche: Editus eac Originali Petropolitano per Antony du Chaffat. Plate size is 65cm x 48cm, on a sheet measuring 68cm x 51cm; the upper edge is trimmed very close to the plate line. Verso is blank. Some yellow marks from old tape repairs on verso, a few short marginal tears, a closed tear near the left edge affecting the open sea; a clean very good copy in general. Versions of this map were issued by numerous cartographers including Ottens, Covens & Mortier, L'Isle, and Frauendorff. A map of the Ukraine, Crimea, and the Black Sea, showing details of the Russo-Turkish war; there are many small letters and numbers present on the map which would have related to a separately-printed key, not present here.

Leipzig: Voigt & Günther, [nd] (ca. 1860).. Disbound. 78pp. Frontispiece & 3 inserted plates in colour. Final blank leaf detached, foxing throughout, wear to edges, very good otherwise. Published anonymously. A juvenile work in verse, a tale of two birdies.

Seattle: University of Washington Book Store, 1928. . Stiff card covers pasted into red wrappers. A nice clean copy. Issued as Number Twenty-One of the University of Washington Chapbooks. Signed by Patterson on the front end paper.

London: Smith, Elder, 1833.. A lithograph, colored. About 17 x 11.5 inches, matted & framed; the frame measures 22.75 x 18.75 inches. The lithograph is clean and attractive. The ornate frame shows some light wear, a few tiny chips. "Drawn on Stone by R.L. Gale from a Sketch by Capt. C. Head". "Printed by C. Hullmandel". This is from Head's 1833 book: "Eastern and Egyptian scenery, ruins, &c.... " published in London by Smith, Elder. The book devotes two pages of text to a description of the scene, with the heading "Malta From The Quarantine". Nicely colored, very uncommon.
