In very good brown cloth boards, with blind stamped rondell of bust of Lenin on front, gilt titles to front and spine. The covers are clean, straight and very tight. Clean, beige end papers. Foxed and lightly tanned cut edges. The text block is very tightly bound and with clean, white pages. No inscriptions, but some pages have underlined passages. In very good green dust jacket, white titles; the top edge is chipped; price sticker on back cover. Not price clipped.

"The Clevedon Community Co-operative Bookshop Bindery Team" have repaired the front hinge with Japanese paper. Tanned free end papers. Slightly tanned cut edges. Very good book block, tightly bound, straight and clean. With b/w plates. No dedications etc. The last end page has two newspaper cuttings about the sale of the fleet pasted on. No jacket.

Spine has split hinge but still fairly tight, ends frayed. Tanned end papers, crease across front free end paper. Split in centre of front end papers. Cut edges tanned. The text block is printed on blue/grey paper; very tanned around the edges. Frontispiece illustration of Thackeray. Title page has small stamp from 'Jas. Hunt & Compy, Hammersmith. Due to the tanning 'reading copy' only. Very scarce.

No inscriptions etc. With four illustrations Frank Wiles (including frontispiece).
