Inscription reads, 'Adrian Batchelor-Taylor, Esquire, M.C./ "Old, 'REMEMBERED', far off things,/and battles long ago!"/from his friend, John Clark-Kennedy/March 8th 1986 Knockgray'. Lieutenant Batchelor-Taylor was in the Royal Armoured Corps, 12 Royal Lancers and was awarded the Military Cross in the Second World War.
