Nice two volume set of this educational work for children, on exploration of the polar seas and whaling.  Originally published in 1836, volume XXVI and XXVII of the Boy's and Girls LIbrary of Useful and Entertaining Knowledge.   Really a charming set in the original, uniform cloth.  .

The Delian Union was a student organization at the University of Nebraska. Jacket very good, price-clipped, with some sun fading to spine and front panel, and rubbing to rear panel.

Fascinating work from Mexican photographer, hunter, diver, conservationist, and founder of CEDAM (Conservation, Education, Diving, Awareness and Marine Research), Pablo Bush Romero (1905-1998).  The book reads like an adventure novel, accompanied by photographs, detailing Romero's explorations with CEDAM of fabled underwater wrecks such as El Matancero; a search for the tomb of pirate, Jean Lafitte; the discovery of a Mayan crematorium in an underwater cavern of the Inlet of Xeláh and others.     A relatively uncommon book, and even more so signed.  .
