1845. Original manuscript. Very Good. 4pp. Printed form, accomplished by hand in sepia ink. In part: "To the Justices of the Court of County Commissioners...of Aroostook.... At a legal meeting of the inhabitants of the plantation of Bancroft...the said inhabitants gave in their votes for a County Treasurer.... The whole number of ballots given in was fifteen--15 [crossed out] Eleven--11...." All eleven votes went to Darius Daggett. On page three is printed the section of the Maine statutes relating to election results. Docketed in the verso. Original folds; small hole from removal of wax seal, no text loss. 9.5" x 8" Signed by Daniel Beane and Jonathan Quinby, Assessors of Bancroft Plantation, and by A.C. Shores, Plantation Clerk. This election took place only six years after Aroostook County was set up, and five years after Bancroft Plantation was organized.
