Bumped to the corners and spine ends are a little softened with minor wear. Spine is somewhat age darkened. Very mild foxing to the first and last few pages. Book sits solid and square with all pages well bound. Cloth boards are slightly faded. Minor overall signs of wear and handling commensurate with age, but a good copy. Paper onlaid colour illustration remains complete and intact and very well preserved. All pages are present and correct with no inscriptions and are tightly bound. The binding is remarkably tight given the books age.This is a very early impression of this book in the same format as the first printing. The binding looks identical. The copyright date of 1907 appears on the copyright page with no other dates printed. Minor signs of handling and light overall wear to the boards but a lovely copy nontheless. Unusually the spine remains strong with no missing pieces, albeit somewhat faded, which is scarce for these particular little Beatrix Potter books.
