Description:
Chadwick's "Symphonic Ballad" is based upon Robert Burns' poem of the same title. Composed in 1915 at a time when the US was on the brink of World War I, the work was viewed as an affirmation of America's Anglo-Celtic heritage. The present score is a carefully restored reissue of the first edition issued by the Boston Music Co in 1917. Unlike so many of the on-demand scores now available, this one comes with all the pages and the images have been thoroughly checked to make sure it is readable, is beautifully printed on off-white stock with a quality cover.

Description:
Though one of Russia's "Mighty Handfull", Borodin wrote very little piano music, concentrating mainly on chamber and orchestral works, when not serving as a Chemistry professor. Borodin composed his Tarantella in 1862 for piano 4 hands. It is a sparkling tour de force using the entire range of the piano. In this brilliant orchestration by Richard W. Sargeant Jr., a large orchestra employs a kaleidoscopic palate to convey the excitement of this amazing early Borodin work.

Description:
Completed in 1849, the Te Deum, like the earlier and more famous Grande messe des morts, is one of Berlioz's self-described "architectural" works. While the orchestral forces required for the Te Deum are nowhere near as massive as huge as those for the Requiem, the work does call for an organ which can compete on equal terms with the rest of the orchestra. It lasts approximately fifty minutes and derives its text from the traditional Latin Te Deum, although Berlioz made some changes to word order for dramatic purposes. The instrumental Prelude and Marche are seldom performed in concert. This vocal score is a digitally enhanced reissue of the one published by G. Schirmer, Inc. around 1925, itself a re-engraving of the one issued by Novello in the 1880s.

Description:
Newly engraved and revised edition of Gleichauf's classic vocal score. Composed in in Salzburg in 1769, Mozart modeled this youthful work closely on a similar one by Michael Haydn (for which reason its authenticity had long been questioned). Mozart's piece divides the lengthy liturgical text into three contrasting sections, including a final rousing double fugue. Musicologist Alfred Einstein described the work as "sure in construction, thrilling in its choral declamation, and having a certain rustic South-German grandeur."
