An early map of Scotland by English cartographer William Hole and published by Christopher Saxton. Saxton produced the first printed map of England and his maps are highly prized for their accuracy and high quality. His maps "are excellent in every way.....and set a standard and remained the base for succeeding county maps for over a hundred years" (Tooley-"Maps and Map Makers"). Lovely compass rose as well as a sea monster off the Hebrides Island. Moir, p. 167; Shirley (BL Atlases) T.CAMD-1e.

Oonalaska is part of the Aleutian Islands of Alaska. It was surveyed on Cook's third Voyage from 1776-1780.

Two maps on one sheet-the upper being Spain and delineating the various provinces including Andalusia, Granada, Valencia, Catalonia and the islands of Majorca, Minorca and Ivica. The bottom map shows the Mouth of the River Tagus or Harbour of the City of Lisbon with a small inset view of Belem Castle.

Views of Bethlehem, Nazareth, Sidon, Jerico, Gaza and Joppa.

A detailed map covering central and southern Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador and part of Honduras. Shows towns, cities, ports, mines, topographical features and "intendacies"-a political division before Mexico adopted "states". On first glance, this map is very similar to John Thomson's map of the same area, however Pinkterton's map is more detailed and contains more up to date information (based on Humboldt's map of a year prior). Browning to front wrap and split along spine fold to lower portion, creased lower left corner, dusty, some pages uncut, generally good. Alexander McLeod, a Canadian, had killed an American on board the Ship Caroline. The ship was en route to Navy Island to bring supplied to McKenzie and his followers. Although McLeod was arrested in New York state, Adam argues he shouldn't be tried on grounds that the Caroline was "in hostile array against the British Government".
