Being 20 years old, this copy is an excellent example of how poor paper can age and bleed. A former reader's bookplate on the front free endpaper has provided the perfect mask preventing acid discoloration to the inside of the front cover on that masked area.

F/NA. Two segments of a round ball open to receive (or empty) tea leaves, no marking. The two halves are held shut by friction. The 3" chain runns through a small silver sleeve at the top of the ball, and ends in a 3/4" thin wire ring. [Could also be wron as an intersting drop ear ring.] No markings.

F/NA. A tea ball on chain resembling a censer. The body is embossed into an 8-paneled urn ending in a point. The panels continue into the lid and end at the top center where a ring is welded to accept the hanger chain. It appears that the item was once dropped leaving a small indention beneath this ring. The lid is hinged to the body and is held shut by friction. The 5" chain ends in a 7/8" thin wire ring. Rim of cap is marked STERLING, and with 3 hallmarks - R - IS - Co. Decorative punch marks repeated on each of the 8 panels.
