In the exercise songs section, there is a series of 13 group physical exercises to be performed with the songs. This item is quite scarce; the OCLC Worldcat locates the 1888 edition in one university (Harvard) but there are NO copies of this later edition in any university. Faint ownership inscriptions to the front cover. The heel of the spine has a tiny chip. Corners creased. No inscriptions on the interior. Size: 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Original Printed Wraps. The pagination on this issue runs xiipp. of prelims + pp217-pp290pp. + pp. xiii.-xiv. Illustrated in text, including a nice illustrated ad for "The Monarch: King of Bicycles." This article on Crane is on pages 29-30. Black and white portrait of Crane in text. This is only the second time that a serious article on Crane had been written in the press. The first was in Arena (June 1893) when Hamlin Garland wrote a mixed review of Maggie: A Girl of the Streets, Crane's first novel, which was essentially self published and had a very limited circulation. In this article by Peck (unsigned here, but identified in Stallman's "Stephen Crane: A Critical Bibliography" on page 75), the author praises Maggie and gives a little of the publishing history of it.
