Cologne: Apud Maternum Cholinum, 1564. First edition in Latin. Hardcover. Very good. Folio. (xx),205pp. Printer's device on title; woodcut initials. First Latin edition translated by John Grodecius. The dedicatory matter is followed by a Life of St Cyril, a discussion of his works and an index. Early 19th century marbled paper boards, later lettering label, gilt; page edges stained yellow. The text block is generally clean and crisp, with an ownership name on the title and two stamps from Domkapital Munchen; the title page is lightly soiled, front free endpaper has been replaced, and with short marginal tears (no loss) to the final 11 leaves. The binding has wear at the spine tips and edges, later free endpapers, else is very good. Originally published in Greek, this is the first edition in Latin of the famous Catechetical Lecturs of Saint Cyril, Archbishop of Jerusalem. Rare. Obly five copies located in OCLC .

Santa Fé: The Press at the Palace of the Governors, 2008. Limited edition. Hardcover. Fine. Elephant folio. Five finely printed broadsides in a portfolio. The portfolio has a blue cloth spine, brown paper over boards,title printed on marbled paper and inset onto the upper board, linen ties. The broadsides are printed by Tom Leech at the Palace Press on Arches Test which was first marbled by Leech in his studio. Each broadside has been signed by the poet. One poem was printed in an edition of 75 copies, the remainder in editions of 60 copies. Of these 15 sets were reserved for the portfolio. This is copy no. 12 of 15. A fine copy. Arthur Sze was the first Poet Laureate of Santa Fé.

Tulsa: n.p., 1965. Stiff card wraps. Near fine. Single pages 8½ by 11 bound into a tab card folder. English and Spanish on opposite pages. The English is clearly a typescript, with typing indentations obvious on the reverse of the pages, and impression of cloth typewriter ribbon on the obverse. The Pagination is (8) plus 165 English, 165 Spanish, (1,, giving the total at about 329, allowing for the right page introduction. Printed on one side of the paper only. The proposed date is taken from a xerox copy in OCLC with a manuscript date on the title page. This the recension of the manuscript in the Thomas Gilcreasae Institute of American History and Art in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with Strout's translation facing. It recounts the expedition, under Capt. Juan Hurtado, of resettlement of Santa Fe after the Pueblo Revolt of 1680 and the agreement between De Vargas, Reconqueror of New Mexico, and Hurtado. The expedition finally left Zacatecas in 1695.

So far as we know, there was but a single printing for the 1977 Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival. Except for a tiny marginal closed tear along the side, it is in fine condition.

Nearly all hinges have been neatly mended; ther is light rubbing and scuggind; else a very good copy. French satirical carnivalesque satire in a mixture of prose, verse, and dialogue. It is a work of political propaganda focused on undermining the Catholic League and Spanish pretensions, as well as uniting France under a Catholic king (Henri IV). Some consider it one of the greatest political satires of world literature. First published in 1593. In French.

Hinges rubbed and partially cracked ( but firm), wear to edges, else a very good set. Bowdler was called to the bar in 1805 but ill-health required him to spend time on the continent, where he composed these letters, poetry and translations. He died in 1815, His father caused this edition to be published as a memoir. His journal entries as her epublished provide a valuable insight to the Continent in the first few years of the 19th century, but it is essentially an 1810 Grand Tour. .

The engraving by Rodriguez is particularly striking, showing a crowned eagle on a prickly pear after a suggestion by the printer to the artist. Printed in red, black and green. MP Bibliography, 655, which indicates this is the second printing of the Sentimientos. Sentimientos de la Nación was a document presented by José María Morelos, leader of the insurgents in the Mexican War of Independence, to the National Constituent Congress in Chilpancingo (modern-day Guerrero) on September 14, 1813. It sets out in 23 points Morelos' vision for the future nation of Mexico and has been called the Mexican Bill of Rights. .

St. Petersburg: Wesenberg, 1850. Very good. Albumin photograph on card shoowing Russian painter Vasily Shebuyev (1777-1855). In 1803, Shebuyev was studying in Rome, but three years later, he was recalled to Saint Petersburg to participate in decorating the Kazan Cathedral. He became Rector of Painting and Sculpture at the Academy in 1832. He was appointed Director of the Imperial Tapestry Manufactory in 1831 and he oversaw the creation of the church canopy at Tsarskoye Selo. He was also named Supervisor of Paintings for Saint Isaac's Cathedral in 1844. This may be the sole photographic record of him. Undated but certainly before his death in 1855. Light wear else in very good condition. .
