[12] pp. String-sewn wrappers, paper label on front cover. A reprint of Jeffers' own review of his first book, Flagons and Apples, which was published in the Los Angeles Times on December 8, 1912. Photographic frontispiece portrait of Jeffers tipped in. Printed by William Erik Voss at the Lyceum Press. A fine copy in original printed envelope.

Lexington, KY: Gnomon Press, 1970. First edition. Brown cloth boards, paper spine label lettered in black, photograph mounted on front board. According to Jonathan Williams, from whose collection this copy came, one of fifteen copies bound in boards, signed by Meatyard on the half-title and by Wendell Berry at his introductory note. A recording made at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan at the Miles Modern Poetry Reading on November 20, 1962. Contains several of Jarrell's translations of Rilke along with some of his best-known poems ("The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner," "The Woman at the Washington Zoo," and others). Slight surface wear to sleeve, vinyl appears unplayed.

A fine copy of Strand's second book, and first trade publication following the limited Stone Wall Press edition of his first book. The hardcover edition is uncommon. Signed by Strand on the title-page.

New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1929. First English language edition. 213 pp. Smooth deep orange cloth, lettered and decorated in black. Some rubbing to edges and corners, interior clean. The rare dust jacket is not present. The first appearance in English of Babel's legendary stories, based on his experiences with the 1st Cavalry Army during the Polish-Soviet War of 1920. Translated by Nadia Helstein. This translation (an identical translation published by Knopf in London in 1929 is attributed to John Harland) was later described as "abounding in errors" and "generally an inadequate rendering." It is, however, the first and one of the only collections of Babel's work to be published in English in his lifetime.

The total edition was 1200 numbered copies, 600 each published in England by Faber and in America by Dutton, of which 100 of each were signed. The proof copy is very scarce.

Single folio sheet folded into sixths, printed by Joel Oppenheimer at Black Mountain College, with four tipped-in plates of drawings by Paul Ellsworth tipped in. As usually seen, the poor adhesive has meant that the plates have come loose from the paper, with some discoloration from the glue marks. Altohugh not called, for, signed by Williams on the cover. One of 100 copies in wrappers, published as Jargon 3. The original announcement prospectus is laid in.

Printed illustrated wrappers, stapled. 16pp. Printed (likely via lino or monotype) on cheap brown paper, text block detached from staples with some chipping at the head of the spine and a small chip at the top front corner. A fragile survival.Program for the inaugural season of The Living Theatre, held at the Cherry Lane Theatre in Greenwich Village. This March 2, 1952 program featured three performances: Gertrude Stein's "Ladies' Voices," Pablo Picasso's "Desire (Trapped by the Tail)," and T.S. Eliot's "Sweeney Agonistes." (A side note of interest is the casting of John Ashbury [sic] and Frank OHara [sic] as "the two bow-wows" in the Picasso play.) The program includes a text on the Picasso and Eliot plays by "J.M." Ebon Dooley, born Leo Thomas Hale, was a poet and community activist and for many years owned a bookstore in Atlanta, Timbuktu Market of New Africa. This copy bears the bookstore's stamp on the final leaf.
