Very Good. 12mo; 304, [8], [12]pp. In original full red morocco with gilt-panelled boards and five raised spine bands between gilt compartments (binding somewhat worn, spine rubbed with minor loss, spine label missing), gilt board edges and inner dentelles, all paper edges gilt, original marbled endpapers, early ink ownership name to reverse of front free endpaper, early ink name to title page unobtrusively inked out by an early hand, sporadic light browning and staining, with numerous ornamental head and tail peices and a handful of numismatic engravings in text, an attractive example in original binding of this popular travel book in third edition, taking in Itally and Switzerland, with a large section dedicated to Rome.
