Paris: Editions Cornelius, (1992). One of a series of cardboard punch-out puppets, with clips, elastic, and string. Unopened, in the original package, with the paper package top illustrated by Crumb. Some wear to the edges of the packaging, but like new.

[Paris: Delpech, c.1842]. . A lithographic portrait on wove paper of French lawyer and statesman Antoine Roy, by Delpech after Zéphirin Belliard. Hand-coloured (clothing), with a facsimile of Roy's signature beneath. Sheet size is 29cm x 46cm / 11.5 x 18 inches. At right: "Z. Belliard". At left: "G. Lith. de Delpech.". A clean and attractive image, light foxing. Several varieties and sizes of these lithographs exist, with and without facsimile signatures. From the French work: "Iconographie des Contemporains, ou, Portraits des Personnes dont les noms se rattachent plus pariculièrement, soit par leurs actions, soit par leurs écrits, aux divers événements qui ont eu lieu en France, depuis 1789, jusqu'en 1829 : avec les fac-simile de l'écriture de chacune d'elles / / lithographiés par les plus habiles artistes, d'après les Peintures, Sculptures et dessins de MM. David [et al.] et plusieurs lithographiés d'après nature par MM. Hesse, Dupré et Maurin."

[London]: Published 1825 by Moon, Boys and Graves, 64 Pall Mall. A print, measuring 19.75mm X 16mm. Mounted on a heavy card stock, which measures 25mm X 21mm. Some yellowing of print, but very good. The backing board has a thick residue of yellowed glue all around the edges, likely leftover from when it was mounted in a frame. Accompanied by some very brittle and yellowed glassine. The print is marked "Proof" in the lower left corner. This edition somewhat at variance with that described by the British Museum. Their copy bears a publication date of 1828, and gives the publisher's address as "6 Pall Mall". Also the script in which the title and accompanying rhyme are written is in an entirely different hand, with some letters capitalized on their copy, which are in lower case on this copy. Since Moon, Boys and Graves acquired the stock of Hurst, Robinson after their bankruptcy in 1825, it is not unrealistic to presume that this print was created by Hurst, Robinson, but not issued under their imprint.… Read More

NY: The Grafton Press, (1904). First edition.. cat40a. 314pp. Dark blue cloth lettered in white, designed in white on spine, designed in blind on front cover. Five maps on four inserted plates. White lettering and design mostly gone from the spine, but the front cover is still fairly bright; a clean, very good copy. Smith S-606. A novel of Noah and the deluge. Very uncommon.

Paris: Bellin, 1764.. A copper engraved map on laid paper, coloured, from Volume 2 of Bellin's Petit Atlas Maritime (1764). Cartouche at left, inset map at lower right with an alphabetical table. Image size is 18cm x 23cm. Later colouring. A very nice copy. Issued as Plate 76 in Volume 2, so indicated in the upper right. Arica is on the Chilean coast, near the border with Peru.

Name penned on front fly leaf (partly scratched out), booksellers ticket in rear, a bright very good copy, quite decent. SF novel of imaginary war in the future, set in 1937. cat40a. NY & London: Harper & Brothers, 1900. First edition. Tan pictorial cloth, front cover designed in orange, green, black and yellow, spine lettered in orange. Frontispiece & one inserted plate. Small ownership sticker on inner front cover, some spotting of cloth on front cover, in general a bright very good copy, quite attractive. A balloon voyage to a lost race of vikings near the South Pole.

San Francisco: San Francisco News Company, (1902). First edition.. 108pp. Red cloth, front cover designed and lettered in black, the spine in gilt. Light brown floral end papers. Frontispiece portrait of the author, and numerous illustrations. Spine ends chipped, some stains to cloth, a very good copy, internally very nice. Short stories, essays, journalism, poetry; a couple of stories are fantastic, one mentions communication with another planet; also an essay on a bicycle trip through the Grand Canyon. Uncommon.

[Antwerp]: Cornelis Galle, [c.1650]. . An engraving on paper. Trimmed, 20.5 x 15.25 inches. Mounted on heavier paper in the remote past. Some light wear at lower margins, very good condition, a nice dark impression. Engraved by Pieter de Bailliu after the original by Peter Paul Rubens. The lower margin contains text from Ovid's Metamorphoses, lib. xii. - Nestor tells of the battle of Lapiths and Centaurs. This copy differs from the one in the collection of the National Gallery in that the imprint at the bottom is "C. Galle ex. Cum Privilegio", while theirs has the imprint "N. Lauwers ex. Cum Privilegio". Cornelis Galle was a Flemish engraver, printmaker and publisher, known to have collaborated with Rubens and the Plantin Press.

Paris: Baudry, 1846. First Continental Edition.. Quarter-calf & marbled boards, spine gilt. [348]pp. The upper spine is partly chipped away. Ownership signature on title, hole in half-title leaf, a very good copy. Issued as Vol. CCCCXXI in Baudry's Collection of Ancient & Modern British Authors. The third novel in Cooper's "Littlepage Manuscripts" trilogy, which was written in reaction to the Anti-Rent War in upstate New York (1839-1845). The first edition was published in London the same year, in 3 volumes. The American edition also appeared (in two volumes) in 1846. See BAL 3291 (citing the UK edition).

Chicago: Questar Printing, 1976. . Olive illustrated wrappers. A 12-page booklet, the center page folds out. Illustrated with photographs. One of 500 numbered copies. Silverfish marks on covers, fine otherwise. The cover title: THE RAVINE. Greentown Illinois. A Walk Along the Ravine in Ray Bradbury's Dandelion Wine, as it Appears in 1976.

[np/nd: The author, 1970s?]. 8.5 x 11 inch sheets, ringbound in a red leatherette binder, lettered in gilt on the front. Printed on rectos only. Some wear to corners, old stain to last few leaves, very good condition. This play, about George Washington at Valley Forge, was first staged in Midland, Texas, in 1976. It was published by Dramatics magazine in two issues devoted to Barrie and his work, in 1986.

NY: Headquarters of the Association, 1874. Yellow printed wrappers, sewn. 48pp. Folding table at front. Light chipping to edges, short tears in a few margins, upper cover detached, a nice clean copy.

London: John W. Parker, 1836. The Third Edition. . Plain green cloth, spine titled in gilt. Frontispiece. Four leaves of ads at rear. Upper corner clipped from title page, not affecting text; small hole in blank upper margin of frontispiece, the result of an erasure; cloth worn at spine ends and a bit of edge wear, a very good copy otherwise. An uncommon collection including work by Burns, Coleridge, Wordsworth, Keats, Hogg, many others. Americans represented include Dana, Bryant, Longfellow & Whittier. Unaccountably scarce. The first edition was published in 1833, the second in 1834.

Some shelf wear to edges, a bit of scattered foxing, but a clean very good set, quite attractive. A Utopian novel of a pre-historic empire called "Sheviri" in Southern Europe, also a planet of the living dead.

NY: Knopf, (1985). Advance, uncorrected proof of the first edition. Green wrappers printed in black. Info sheet stapled to inner front cover (staple removed). Staple hole in front wrapper, date and price supplied in pen, otherwise fine. An uncommon advance copy of the author's first book.

Montreal: McGill University Publications, Series VI, No. 8, 1925. Gray wrappers printed in black, stapled. A 32-page booklet. Several photographic illustrations. Inscribed and signed by Johnson on the title page. A bit of browning, but a fine copy.

London: The Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge, [c.1870]. . Small 8vo. Brown decorative cloth, the covers stamped in blind, front cover lettered in gilt, the spine designed and lettered in gilt. Slate coated end papers. Frontispiece and two inserted plates. Two leaves of publisher's ads at the rear. Rear free end paper missing, some creased leaves, old stain to upper margin, a very good copy generally. This book was first issued by SPCK [c.1865] in a slightly different binding, and with four plates instead of the three present in our copy. In comparing our copy to an [evidently] earlier one, we find that the earlier edition had a plate at pg. 90 depicting natives dancing around a campfire - that plate is not present, and was never bound into this copy. In addition, the ad leaves at the back of our copy contain listings of a number of books not present in the earlier ads, including an ad for this very book, which is also not listed in the earlier ads. Spine slightly sunned, a bit of spotting to cloth, slight evidence of a bookplate removed from the inner front cover, but a strong very good copy. An uncommon lost race novel, set in Indochina, of a race which descended from the continent of Gondwana.
