Description:
New York. Alfred A. Knopf. 1972. First Edition. Quarto (9 1/2 x 8). 196 pp plus index, colophon. Inscribed and signed by John McDonald on the half-title. Color fly plates showing Dame Juliana’s twenty-one flies plus American and English trout and salmon flies developed by Theodore Gordon and John Atherton. A scholarly and interesting book by John McDoanld in which he exhibits his extensive knowledge about the Dame and Charles Cotton together with the literature and history on the sport of fly fishing - "Like most fishing books, this one runs more to pattern than plan." The book is bound in cream cloth with gilt titles. Pictorial dust jacket. A handsome book, the nicest I’ve seen. Fine in a fine dust jacket.. Signed by Author.
