Octavo, approximately 8.5" x 5.25" inches, 156 pages. [LGBTQ Pulp ] The "Queen of Lesbian Pulp' Ann Bannon early novel. Bannon, Ann. I Am a Woman In Love With A Woman. Gold Medal Books - Fawcett Publications, 1959. First edition, first printing, soft cover pulp. 224 pages. Measures 4.5" x 7". Front cover states: "I Am a Woman In Love With A Woman Must Society Reject Me?" This was Bannon's second lesbian pulp novel and the first with an openly gay title. Up until that time, lesbian pulp fiction books usually showed suggestive art with obscure titles that hinted at what the subject matter was inside. This book also marked the first ending in a work of lesbian fiction where none of the characters commit suicide, go insane, or are abandoned or killed. Bannon wrote a total of six lesbian pulp fiction novels later known known as The Beebo Brinker Chronicles, and was one of few women at the time writing lesbian pulp, which was a genre dominated by men writing under pen names. In an interview in 2003, she admitted this book was her favorite of the series. The… Read More

[Film] Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown. Archive of 5 original vintage glossy photographs. 1997. All are 8" x 10" in color. Jackie Brown is Tarantino's third film and his only adapted screenplay, based on the novel Rum Punch by Elmore Leonard. The film is a tribute to the blaxploitation subgenre that emerged in the 1970s. The genre ranks among the first after the race films in the 1940s and 1960s in which black characters and communities are the protagonists and subjects of film and television, rather than sidekicks supportive characters, antagonists or victims of brutality. Tarantino cast Pam Grier, a blaxploitation star from the era, as his leading character Jackie Brown, which pays homage to her other films Coffy and Foxy Brown. The film also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Forster, Bridget Fonda, Robert De Niro and Michael Keaton, with Grier and Forster revitalizing their careers as a result of their performances. Photos feature images from the movie including of Jackson, Forster, De Niro and… Read More
