Buffalo, 1900. Very Good. A single-fold pamphlet presented by Father Arent's Plaster Co., Buffalo NY. Front cover with image from photo of Father Arent promoting his Rheumatism Porous Plaster. The inside pages include the identical message and imagery; one is in German, the other in English. A portion of the text reads that in the Last Will of Rev. J. N. Arent "It was September the 10th, 1880, on the day before the death of Rev. Arent, when Joseph Hogg and wife visited him for the last time. He said with solemn and earnest voice: Children do make the Plaster! It is a benefit to mankind." Also used for tired feet... Directions for use on back page again in English and German. Age toning.

Atlanta, Georgia: Jas. P. Harrison & Co, 1879. Very good; some light dust soiling, damp staining.. A passionately penned pamphlet advocating for swift quarantine measures to be enacted during an outbreak of yellow fever, and calling for other physicians to share research with colleagues: "... it behooves every medical man South, who has had personal experience in the treatment of yellow fever ... to bring forward whatever information he may have gathered, to instruct the community and enlighten the masses on the true nature of the pestilence, and to express fearlessly his views as to the best and surest means of prevention" (p. 3). Includes lengthy discussions of the role of the government and politicians in ensuring public health, with uncomfortable parallels to the present day. 8 copies in OCLC (Jan 2022). Dr. J. C. LeHardy practiced medicine in Savannah, Georgia, and advocated quarantining as a method of curbing the spread of yellow fever and similar diseases.

A astonishing friendship album filled with quotes, verses, and drawings belonging to Amelia Isabel Mackenzie, a member of the W.A.A.C. The Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (1917-1918), which later became known as Queen Mary's Army Auxiliary Corps (1918-1920) was the women's unit of the British Army during and immediately after the First World War. It was formally instituted on 7 July, 1917 and between January 1917 and November 1918. over 57,000 women served in the unit. The corps was disbanded in September 1921 and unfortunately most of the service records of the corps were destroyed during a German air raid in September 1940. The front cover of the album is stamped with the flags of Russia, France, Britain, and Belgium. Entries consist of drawings and sketches as well as verses. The first page is a hand drawn British flag and the inscription "12th Dec 1917, Q.M.A.A.C. April 1918". New York: Frederick A. Stokes Company, 1895. Box lid only, no base or aprons. 3 headpieces and umbrella lacking. Victoria's left hand is lacking.. A single paper doll set with the same character and costumes as included in "Famous Queens and Martha Washington" a larger boxed set. Illustrated by Elizabeth S. Tucker. It includes Queen Victoria and three period costumes. The doll is wearing a white petticoat covered with a white peignoir tied with a blue bow. the costumes include a walking gown, court robe,and reception robe. Additionally the set includes a booklet with a brief introduction to the doll and instructions on use and play. and the original box top with an applied litho of the queen. Doll 7" tall and booklet and box lid approx. 10" x 8".

Great Britain: Flame Tree Publishing, 2007. Condition is good. All the pull and lift tabs function. Piece of paper attached on a small area on the second page.. The gorgeously illustrated pop-up panorama truly brings the characters and scenery to life. It is one illustration that expands over two pages depicting a gathering scene of the various fairies in the woods. There is a little story and poem that are placed within the scenery to give context to the illustrations. Also, within the scenery are various pull and lift tabs in the that are meant to blend in, making for a fun find and adds interactivity with the story. London: Dean & Co., 1840s. Hand colored lithograph on board/heavy stock sheet music with words and music in a central decorative element in the shape of a heart surrounded by relevant illustrations. Depicts the queen baking the tarts, the knave stealing the tarts, the king demanding the return and the return as promised. . Price marked at base - 2 pence plain, 3 pence colored. Age toning. England, 1850. Very good.. A particularly fine example of embossed lace paper with gilding, for use in an octavo-sized Valentine, adorned with embossed Victorian scrap. Depicts a fairy queen surrounded by flora and birds in flight, above the phrase "Queen of My Heart". The background is an elaborate series of fountains draped in flora. Measures approx. 7" by 4.75

New York: The Washington Life Ins. Co, 1893. Front cover is missing sections of the surface leather. Interior pages are toned and aged due to age.. A tiny pocket journal, written by an unknown individual whose entries mostly consists of quotes from sermons delivered by Reverend Moses Drury Hoge (often referred to in the journal as Dr. Hoge). Along with the quotes, are the writer's thoughts on these sermons. Dr. Hoge was a well-known preacher and orator for the Confederate Army during the Civil War. After the war he rebuilt his church in Richmond, VA, and travel extensively to preach. The entries start in 1894 and continue to 1898, and below are a few excerpts: "The sermon was simple and beautiful- quite characteristic of Dr. Hoge. The rule of happiness as taught by the Scriptures, he says, 'to recognize and appreciate present blessing'.
